A practice & learning community for accomplished people in transition

After the title,
the costume,
the climb.

An Intentional Age is for people stepping past the role and into the chapter that's actually theirs. Essays, courses, and small-group conversations from someone one chapter ahead.

One chapter ahead. Designing forward.

The Throughline

There's a story being sold to anyone past fifty: catch up, or fall behind.

It's the wrong story.

The Drift is the real enemy. Autopilot living. Deferred ambition. The slow handoff of your best work to someone with half your experience and twice the visibility.

The judgment you've earned across decades. The patterns you read in five minutes that take a thirty-year-old five years to see. The instinct for when something is off before anyone can name why. That's the asset. The chapter ahead is built on it, not in spite of it.

This is the practice that fights The Drift. One thesis. A few ways in.

Where to Start

Two ways in. Same thesis.

Learning & Community

If you're designing what comes next.

Essays, courses, and live conversations on AI, purpose, and third-act design. Built from inside the chapter, for people walking the same stretch with intention.

Workshops & Consulting

If you lead a team through it.

Senior leaders and intact teams need AI fluency that compounds with the judgment they've already earned. Half-day workshops to multi-session engagements, scoped to what your team actually does.

About

One chapter ahead. Not at the finish line.

Bennie
Tacoma, WA · Founder, An Intentional Age

I've spent thirty-five years designing learning experiences. Apple, Bose, Microsoft, and several teams whose names you'd recognize. Five businesses founded along the way. A career a lot of people would call enviable.

I've also lived through the parts no one writes about. The burnout. The costume of success that quietly stopped fitting. The morning at fifty-something when my body told me I'd been outsourcing my own life and the bill had come due.

What I do now sits on top of all of it. I write, teach, and convene people designing what comes after the title, the role, the costume. And I work with leaders building AI fluency without losing the judgment that makes their work worth doing.

How do we build a chapter worth being awake for?
